Every morning I have to take the bus from my apartment complex to campus. From all my bus rides back and forth from campus I have acquired a lot of "knowledge" from listening to the other people riding it. I wouldn't call this good knowledge though. Well, actually it is good in a sense for me to know never to talk or act like this on public transportation. Kaitlyn and Courtney say that they think their IQ goes down every time they ride it. I just shake my head and praise God I was raised better than this! I just sit there, minding my own business and wonder how in the world did some of these people get accepted into college, much less still be here. So, without further adieu, here are a few examples of what I'm talking about...
~This girl one day was sitting behind me talking to her roommate. This was a Wednesday afternoon and they were talking about their plans for the rest of the week. Suddenly, one of the girls said "OH MY GOD....tomorrow's Thursday. I HAVE TO DRINK!!" Then she proceeded to say that she hadn't recovered from the last time she drank. She kept on and on saying how Thirsty Thursday snuck up on her and she wasn't ready to drink, but she just HAD to because it was Thursday. Seriously? First off, no one is making you drink dear. No one is forcing your mouth open and shoving alcohol down your throat. Secondly, I don't think there is a magic rule that Thursday's drinking night and you have to follow it. But who knows? Maybe it's my fault that I don't get plastered every Thursday night and come this Thursday I might be in trouble with the drinking nazi's.
~This next one just happened yesterday. As the bus pulled up to the first stop to let people off (I get off at the second), this girl got on and this guy was making fun of her and asking her about her weekend. He then asked her if she got her license back and she told him that, no, she hadn't because the police had taken it into evidence! I didn't get the whole story about why her driver's license was taken into evidence, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't going to end pretty for her. Poor girl.
~This one's courtesy of Kaitlyn. One day while she was riding the bus these girls (I'm pretty sure their the same as the first example) were talking about making supper. One of them goes, "Oh my god (in a high-pitched, ditsy voice), tonight I'm gunna make chicken!" She then went on to say.."But...I don't know if I know how?" "I mean it can't be that hard can it?" Looks at her friend for advice. Her friend then says..."Well, I think I know how, I mean I think we can do it together and it won't be that hard." Ok, if you are in college, living away from home, and don't know how to cook chicken, I truly feel sorry for you. I know I'm not the brightest cook in the kitchen but I can bake chicken to a perfection! And really, if you're going to have this conversation on the bus, don't do it so loud that everyone can hear you and all agree that you guy's are morons.
I have to finish off by saying that not everyone who rides the bus is an idiot. I bet there are a ton of intelligent people on there who are thinking the same thing I am when I hear stories like this. Just thought I would let everyone in on my wonderful, knowledge filled bus rides to school!!
Happy Tuesday :)
