Day Eighteen ~ A picture of your biggest insecurity
Public Speaking. I have never liked it nor do I think I will ever like it. There is something about getting up in front of people and talking that just scares me to death. I don't even like speaking in class when I'm sitting at my desk. Whenever I do have to get up and talk in front of people, I get so flustered that I start stuttering and just look nervous all over. I don't know why! I think my problem is that I think about it too much and I get myself so worked up, so when the time comes for it to happen, I'm just done for. I always dread going to a class and reading the syllabus and realizing that at some point throughout the semester I am going to have to get up and do some type of presentation. I really need to get over this because I am most likely going to have to do many more presentations throughout my college career but I just hate it! Good thing I'm not going to school to be a teacher!!
On a another note, I really wish Matt would get to feeling better. :( His poor allergies are kicking his butt and I just wish I could make them all go away!! Poor thing has an earache now. Hopefully he can get some medicine at the doctor tomorrow and get to feeling better soon. I need to get going. I have soooo much stuff to do for school that I don't need to put off any longer!!
Hope everyone has a great week...maybe the warm weather will come back to stay! =)

Day #16 & Day #17
I just wrote a whole bunch for these 2 posts and pressed a wrong button and everything got deleted so I'm doing a shortened version now because I'm tired!!!!!!
Day Sixteen ~ A picture of someone who inspires you
Basically, Oprah is just an all around good person! She really cares about people and wants to help people in need. This is an example of someone who came from nothing and made it too the top! She grew up in a poverty-stricken neighborhood, was abused and neglected, and now is one of the richest or might be the richest women in the world. If she isn't an inspiration to someone then I don't know who is!
Day seventeen ~ A picture of something that has made a huge impact in your life recently.
In the past couple of months, I have really realized what I want to do with my life and that's working with hospice patients. Through volunteering in assisted living facilities and getting to work with older people, I've found that they are some of the sweetest and most caring people to work with and I can't wait to finally get out of school and start working with them on a daily basis. Older people have a lot of wisdom and have been through so much in their lives and they are just fun to listen and talk too. I fully believe that I have found a area of work that suits my personality and what I like to do. =)

Day #15
Day Fifteen ~ A picture of something you want to do before you die
Not in this particular direction, but before I die I would LOVE to take a road trip from the east coast to the west coast. I think it would be awesome to stop in all the different places and see things that I have never seen before. I would love to stop and see the Grand Canyon and ride a camel...or is it a donkey? down to the bottom! I would also like to go to Yosemite National Park and make pit stops in Alabama, just because Sweet Home Alabama makes it look so pretty! I think it would be so cool to just stop in all of the small towns I came across and just visit new places. I realize that in order for me to make this happen I would have to SAVE SAVE SAVE and I would have to find some willing participants to travel along on this journey. Who knows, maybe one day I will make this dream come true!! =)
Happy Thursday Everyone!

Day # 14
Day fourteen ~ A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without
Man do I love this boy. From the first time Matt and me really ever talked I knew something was different. He is one of the most caring people I have ever met and I know without a doubt that he loves me unconditionally. He is also one of the most hardworking people I have ever met and I am so proud of him for doing what he wants to in life and being so good at it. He treats me the way a girl is supposed to be treated and I know that he would do anything in the world for me. I love how I am so comfortable around Matt and we can talk about anything and everything. I am so looking forward to making many more memories with my Matt and I cannot wait to see where life takes us. Love you Matthew!!!

Day # 13
Day Thirteen ~ A picture of your favorite band or artist
HELLO!!! Does this picture even need an explanation. Not only is Jason Aldean smokin', I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of his music. I will be at his concert in September and I will probably be acting like a little kid in a candy shop. So if anyone feels the need to get me back stage passes as well to meet this hunk I will certainly be glad to have them! =)

Day # 12
Day Twelve ~ A picture of something you love
I don't know what it is, but fresh flowers always brighten my day! I love the springtime when everything starts to bloom. The world just seems so much fresher & nicer when there are flowers popping up everywhere and all of the different colors fill up the scenery. And it is always a plus when someone gives you fresh flowers just for the heck of it and just because he loves you (coughmattcough)! So here's to the start of springtime and the start of brightening up this cold, dreary world we have had to endure for the past couple of months!!
P.S....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS, KAITLYN HUNTER AVERETTE!!! =)

Day 10 & Day 11
Day Ten ~ A picture of the person you do the most crazy stuff with
I LOVE my roommates. It's hard to find people to live with in college, but I have to say I have the best roommates ever, which I am also proud to call some of my best friends in the whole wide world!! Me, Courtney, & Kaitlyn never experience a dull moment. We can just sit around doing the stupidest stuff and get entertained by it. We all know what each person's habits are and we all know what ticks each person off. We know each other's napping habits and we all know what shows to watch at a certain time on a certain day. And If someone comes in and has had a bad day, all it takes is a little humor from one of us to get the other person laughing again! Kaitlyn, Courtney, & myself have experienced so much together in college and I can't wait to make more fun and crazy memories as each of us follows the path that life is taking us! Love you Guys!!
Day Eleven ~ A picture of something you hate
Most of you are probably asking yourselves why in the heck do I hate doritos. Before you judge me, first listen to the reason WHY I hate them so much. When I was younger, like before the age of 10, I loved doritos. I could sit and finish a whole bag. Now...here's the story. One weekend, we were camping at Kerr Lake. I don't know why but when you go to the lake you, or at least I am, are hungry all the time and feel like you need to be snacking constantly. Well, Will's snack of choice was doritos. He didn't just "snack", he basically ate the whole bag. So night time rolls around and it's time to go to sleep. My mom and dad put me and Will in a tent together and said night night. I go to sleep only to be woken up a few hours later by Will THROWING UP DORITOS ALL OVER ME!!!!! I guess he got to hott and just started not feeling well. So yes, I probably started screaming and woke the whole campground up but at least I had a good reason. To this day I have never put another dorito in my mouth, nor will I ever because that is something I never can get over!!! I did eventually forgive Will because I figured he couldn't help it if he didn't feel good, but he could have at least turned the other way!!!

Day #9
Day Nine ~ A picture of the person that has gotten you through the most
A lot of these pictures have the same people in them because the same people fit in a lot of categories!! I put this picture up of my Mom, Dad, & Will because they are the people that have gotten me through everything I have had to face in my life. My Mom and Dad were there when I was young and got a "boo-boo" and would kiss everything and make it better. They were also the ones to tell me everything was going to be OK when I was crying the first day of college and telling them that I wanted to go back home. Will has always been there to talk to and now that he's gotten older I think we have gotten a lot closer. My family is the most important thing to me and I love them so much! I just wished they lived closer to me so that I could see them a lot more, but maybe in the NEAR future they will (hint-hint/cough-cough)!!

Day #8
Day Eight ~ A picture that makes you laugh
Really this picture brings nothing but bad memories, but you can't help but laugh. This was taken last summer at the Brooks and Dunn Concert and they were dubbed TPT (trailer park trash) of our section. HAHA. At first these guys were friendly, as you can see in the above picture. Later on they would be the cause of a huge fight that got Katie punched in the jaw, me getting thrown to the ground and losing my sunglasses and then being sent to "medical", Brent and all the guys just swinging at whoever came our way, Matt and Dusty walking around clueless with their shirts off tied around their head, just basically one big mess!!! And poor Holly, Emily, and Ashleigh...I know they will NEVER want to go anywhere with us again! I really couldn't tell you exactly what caused this fight, but I can certainly tell you that I lost an expensive pair of sunglasses and looked like an idiot crawling around on the lawn trying to find them! Next time we go to a concert, we all just have to remember not to next next to pole # 2!!!!

Prayers Please!!!
A little girl that Courtney babysits all of the time needs your prayers! Her name is Brynley Stokes and last week doctors found a brain tumor. She had surgery yesterday to remove the tumor which was found to be benign. Today she has had some trouble breathing and doctors found that she has a collapsed lung now. She is in surgery right now to put in a chest tube. Please pray that she will start breathing better and come out of this thing good as new!!
Day #7
Day seven ~ A picture of your most treasured item
TEDDY!!! If anyone knows me even the slightest bit, you probably know that I still sleep with a teddy bear and would be lost without him. Teddy just celebrated a birthday too this week. Twenty-one years old!! Doesn't look to bad for his age if I do say so myself. Some gracious lady that my Dad worked with gave me teddy the day I was born. I really don't know who this lady is but if I ever got the chance to meet her I would give her a big ol' hug!! Teddy goes everywhere with me. He's been to Hawaii, New York, and the beach, just to name a few. He's also accidentally been in the toilet (long story and I was about 3 or 4) and thrown in the washing machine when I didn't want him to go in there because I thought he was going to fall apart. Basically, wherever Meg goes, Teddy goes! I really don't know if I would be able to sleep with at night if I didn't have him. It sounds kind of stupid that I'm 21 years old and a junior in college but Teddy is my little security blanket and I will most likely still be sleeping with Teddy when I'm married with kids! He had to under go some re-constructive surgery this past year on his paws and thanks to my wonderful Aunt Sharron, he is good as new!! Without a doubt, Teddy is my most treasured item and I love him!! =)

Day #6
Day Six ~ A picture of someone that you would want to trade places with for a day
I don't think this picture needs a caption written for it! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to trade places with Carrie Underwood for a day. It would be amazing to be as pretty as she is and to have a wonderful voice like hers and preform in front of millions of people would be awesome. Oh, and the paycheck wouldn't be too bad either... ;)

Day #5
Day Five ~A picture of your favorite memory.
Again, like on day four, I have too many favorite memories!! It's hard to pick which one is my favorite so I am going to do one that is fresh in my mind!
This summer I was fortunate enough to be able to go to Hawaii with the best cousins in the world! While in Hawaii, we got the chance to do the Dolphin Adventure and swim with dolphins! It was one of the most fun 30 minutes I've ever had! We were able to feed & swim all over the pool with them. We had to be very careful while petting them because their skin is very sensitive. It was so cool to be able to get up close and personal with these dolphins and I will always remember how much fun I had with them!
I also have to say how loved I feel today! Everyone already has gone out of their way to make me feel special on my birthday and I just love everyone so much!! =)

Day #4
Day four~A picture of your favorite night
I have so many favorite nights and it's really hard to pick the best one, so I am just going to pick one that sticks out as being funny, and memorable.
I have so many favorite nights and it's really hard to pick the best one, so I am just going to pick one that sticks out as being funny, and memorable.
When I graduated high school, my family and my cousins family all went down to St. Thomas for a week. One afternoon, after laying by the pool all day and drinking Voodoo juice out of a bucket (as seen above with my dad), we all decided to go to this place called Duffy's Love Shack for supper. This place set's up your supper tables in the parking lot because it's such a small place theres not room for everyone inside the actual restaurant. My dad was, let's just say, feeling like he was on cloud nine before we even left the hotel. After being at Duffy's and having a few more drinks, he then proceeded to walk over to a store and buy 150 dollar flip flips, of which he probably has no recollection of!! Now you're probably wondering what the first picture is about. Those buses are the taxis in St. Thomas. To get back to our hotel, we had to go down these long, narrow, windy roads and I kid you not, our taxi driver was going probably 70 mph going down these streets. We were all holding on for dear life, with my dad and Grant (the other dad with us) were yelling obscenities at the top of their lungs. When we finally got back to the hotel, my dad literally fell out of the taxi, was able to get back up and take a picture with all of us and the cab driver, then he walked/crawled into the hotel lobby and was layed out on the hotel couch when we all found him. I thought I was going to pee my pants I have never laughed so hard in my life! I have the picture somewhere of my dad but I can't find it right now. But this night was definitely one of my favorites! =)

Day #3
Day Three ~ A picture of your favorite TV cast.
As you may have guessed, my favorite TV show is criminal minds! When I moved in with Kaitlyn and Courtney this year I had never even heard of this show and then one night Kaitlyn made me watch an episode with her and I was hooked! I love this show and I have been known to watch hours and hours of it because it comes on all the time on ion at school and sometimes this isn't so good because I have more important stuff that I need to do (like homework)! Criminal minds is the type of show too keep you on the edge of your seat and things play out like you would never imagine them too. I love all of the characters because they all have something unique about them and they are always making things interesting. I'm not gunna lie, this show can be scary, and I mean scary! Whenever it comes on and we are all sitting in the living room we automatically look and make sure the door is locked! Some people that know me well know that I don't like being by myself so they might be wondering why I watch this show if it's so scary. I will only watch it if someone else is in the room/apartment/house with me and I will watch it by myself during daylight hours. Haha. I usually fall asleep to it at night but I'm a peace knowing that Kaitlyn is on one side of me and Courtney is on the other side of me. =)

Day #2
Day Two ~ A picture of yourself with the person you have been the closest with.
For some reason I can't find a picture right with my mom, dad, and me together so this will have to do. And I'm bending the rules a little bit because I have been equally close to my mommy and daddy so i couldn't pick just one! I don't know what I would do without my parents! They have always provided for me, they are currently putting me through college with no financial help at all, and they are just all around wonderful people! My mom and dad are always there when I need them and I love them very, very much!
P.S- GO TARHEELS!! =)

30 Day Challenge-Day #1
I suck at coming up with things to blog about so I've decided to do this 30 day challenge. I don't know if I'll be able to do 30 consecutive days because I do get slack on my blog but we will try it out and see! Also, I had a little makeover done to my blog! I tried to do it myself and after a couple of tries and a few bad words later I decided to ask April for her help and of course she came running! She's the best! =)
Day One ~ A picture of yourself with ten facts
1. I am really close with my family and I love them so much. Don't know what I would do without them!!
Day One ~ A picture of yourself with ten facts
Me in Hawaii =) |
2. I've slept with the same teddy bear since the day I was born. He goes everywhere with me and I am not ashamed that I am almost 21 years old and still sleep with a stuffed animal.
3. I am OCD about having things clean and organized. Just ask the people who have had to live with me!
4. Dr. Pepper is like a little piece of heaven.
5. I always like to have something sweet to go along with whatever I am eating.
6. LOVE to go to the beach and sit all day and look out at the ocean.
7. I secretly am a nerd and love to read.
8. I let things bother me too much and I worry about things that I shouldn't worry about at all!
9. Not a morning person AT ALL!! I defiantly get that from my mom.
10. There is nothing better than a rainy Sunday afternoon, snuggled under covers watching lifetime movies. =)

Wandering Mind
Someone recently told me that blogging was a way to release your feelings without having to actually talk to anybody. I think I hold things in and let them bottle up, then all of a sudden everything comes out in tears, not words. I've had a lot on my mind these past few days and my mind has just been one big mess. I still cannot wrap my head around the passing of such a sweet, caring, strong-willed young girl who had her whole life ahead of her. It makes me stop and think about everything important in my life. In times like these, little stuff that bothers me just seems to go away. But it shouldn't just be "times like this" that make you stop and think that the little things that bother you shouldn't. Life is so precious and I wish everyone would just slow down and appreciate what all they have. No one ever knows when it's going to be their time to leave this earth and everyday should be a blessing, no matter if you are having a crappy day or a wonderful one. It's so stupid to sweat the small stuff when people around you are going through such a harder time than you might be. I guess what I am really trying to say is please don't take advantage of your life. We all live such fast-paced lives these days and sometimes we all just need to sit down and breathe. Please continue to keep the Edwards family in your prayers as they are saying their final goodbyes these next two days.
Also, if you get a chance, click on the Pray for Lucy button on my blog. I don't know this little girl, just read about her on another blog I read. Shes a five year old girl battling cancer so if you could, say a little prayer for her.

Sometimes I just don't understand...
Today was a sad, sad day. Niki Edwards, who was involved in a four-wheeling accident Friday night passed away this morning. Please keep her family in your prayers as they are going through such a hard time right now. I couldn't even begin to imagine how they feel. Niki was such a strong willed girl and from what I can remember from the times I had the opportunity to be around her, she always had a smile on her face and she was just an all-around wonderful person. She will truly be missed.
I believe in God. I also believe that everything happens for a reason. What I can't understand sometimes is why tragedy's like this have to happen to such good people. Niki didn't deserve this. She was only 22 years old and had her whole life ahead of her. I guess in times like this you just have to put your faith in God and know that he needed someone special and it was time for her to leave us. I fully believe that Niki became an angel today and now is watching over everyone that loves her and misses her. And someday, maybe not tomorrow, or the next day, or even the day after that her family and friends will begin to understand that she is in such a better place, in no more pain, having the time of her life. God knew she was special and I bet he just couldn't wait to get her home.
Life can change in an instant. So hug the people you care about extra hard, forgive old enemy's, and live your life to the fullest, because you never know when life is going to throw you a curve ball.
Please continue to keep the Edwards family in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.
Rest Easy Niki

Duke is puke
As I'm sitting here writing this blog I'm watching the Carolina/Duke game. I have to say it's making me kind of nervous! They played good the first half, let's just hope they can pull out a win because then I will have to see obnoxious Duke fans facebook status's and I don't want that!! I love watching these games so much. I've been raised a Carolina fan my whole life. My Dad went to school there and let's just say I've been through my share of watching remotes being thrown, screaming at the TV, and cussing out a player who made a stupid decision.
Haha. Oh the joy's of being a Carolina fan! But seriously, I hope they win tonight!
Alright well let's see..tonight I made something new for supper!! Mexican Lasagna. Thanks April for giving me the recipe! I cooked it in my new pampered chef covered dish I got for Christmas. It was so good! And super easy. I'm all for easy suppers that are good because I'm not a big fan of the kitchen unless it's to actually eat. =) All I had to do was cook my chicken for about 8 minutes in the covered dish (in the microwave). When that was done, take it out, chop the chicken up, and then your ready to put it all together. Make a layer of crunchy tortillas dipped in enchilada sauce, chicken, cream cheese, onion (or green pepper because I didn't have an onion), and some shredded cheese, then repeat until you get to the top! Pour the rest of the enchilada sauce over top and sprinkle some more cheese on it and pop it in the microwave for about 12 more minutes. Easy as pie! Next thing I have to christen my covered dish with is fold cake!!
Hope everyone had a good hump day...one more day closer to the weekend!

All Aboard the Knowledge Bus!!
Every morning I have to take the bus from my apartment complex to campus. From all my bus rides back and forth from campus I have acquired a lot of "knowledge" from listening to the other people riding it. I wouldn't call this good knowledge though. Well, actually it is good in a sense for me to know never to talk or act like this on public transportation. Kaitlyn and Courtney say that they think their IQ goes down every time they ride it. I just shake my head and praise God I was raised better than this! I just sit there, minding my own business and wonder how in the world did some of these people get accepted into college, much less still be here. So, without further adieu, here are a few examples of what I'm talking about...
~This girl one day was sitting behind me talking to her roommate. This was a Wednesday afternoon and they were talking about their plans for the rest of the week. Suddenly, one of the girls said "OH MY GOD....tomorrow's Thursday. I HAVE TO DRINK!!" Then she proceeded to say that she hadn't recovered from the last time she drank. She kept on and on saying how Thirsty Thursday snuck up on her and she wasn't ready to drink, but she just HAD to because it was Thursday. Seriously? First off, no one is making you drink dear. No one is forcing your mouth open and shoving alcohol down your throat. Secondly, I don't think there is a magic rule that Thursday's drinking night and you have to follow it. But who knows? Maybe it's my fault that I don't get plastered every Thursday night and come this Thursday I might be in trouble with the drinking nazi's.
~This next one just happened yesterday. As the bus pulled up to the first stop to let people off (I get off at the second), this girl got on and this guy was making fun of her and asking her about her weekend. He then asked her if she got her license back and she told him that, no, she hadn't because the police had taken it into evidence! I didn't get the whole story about why her driver's license was taken into evidence, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't going to end pretty for her. Poor girl.
~This one's courtesy of Kaitlyn. One day while she was riding the bus these girls (I'm pretty sure their the same as the first example) were talking about making supper. One of them goes, "Oh my god (in a high-pitched, ditsy voice), tonight I'm gunna make chicken!" She then went on to say.."But...I don't know if I know how?" "I mean it can't be that hard can it?" Looks at her friend for advice. Her friend then says..."Well, I think I know how, I mean I think we can do it together and it won't be that hard." Ok, if you are in college, living away from home, and don't know how to cook chicken, I truly feel sorry for you. I know I'm not the brightest cook in the kitchen but I can bake chicken to a perfection! And really, if you're going to have this conversation on the bus, don't do it so loud that everyone can hear you and all agree that you guy's are morons.
I have to finish off by saying that not everyone who rides the bus is an idiot. I bet there are a ton of intelligent people on there who are thinking the same thing I am when I hear stories like this. Just thought I would let everyone in on my wonderful, knowledge filled bus rides to school!!
Happy Tuesday :)

SLACK!!
I have been so slack on my blog lately. Guess I'm just such a busy girl! Haha. Well nothing really special has happened. Just been going to class, doing my homework, eating, sleeping, then doing it all over again! With a little bit of seeing my Matt and everyone else mixed in of course! I kinda/sorta watched the Superbowl last night. I wasn't very interested in it but I felt like I needed to jump on the bandwagon and watch a little of it so I at least knew who won! I got to see my Mom, Dad, & Will last weekend which was very nice. Miss them so much....wish they would move back (hint hint). Mema and Grandad came down tonight and took Kaitlyn, Trotter, Courtney, and myself out to eat at Rucker Johns and it was delicious! We all had a good time visiting and I think they had a good time as well! We never pass up a free meal! Thanks Grandad!! =) I do have some very exciting news to share......I"M BLONDE AGAIN!!! Well, getting there. And I cut all my hair off. My hair grows so fast and it just get's to the point where I can't do anything with it and it's so heavy. I don't ever think I will go back to being a brunette again. I did like it for about the first month, then it got old. I just wanted to be like my normal self again! Well, I will try my hardest to start blogging more but it's getting past my bedtime! Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Pet Peeves....
Everyone has them. They're the little things that people do that just tick you off. And I know that most of the time people don't do them on purpose, but it just so happens that if your having a bad day, or you are just ill, then everyone is going to get on your nerves and do all the things you don't like, just because it's not your day.
So here we go....
1. Can't stand when the kitchen counters and stove don't get wiped down after you cook. Or just clean up after yourself for that matter.
2. If someone say's they are going to do something, then I expect them too.
3. I HATE ceiling light!!! If you don't know what this means just ask Kaitlyn.
4. Rude people. It isn't that hard to say please and thank you!
5. I don't like it when people take advantage of other people, especially if someone goes out of their way for you.
6. Two-faced people. If you can't be the same person around everyone, then obviously you don't need to be "friends" with them.
7. Couples who sit on the same side of the booth at a restaurant.
8. Slow drivers!!! (Not that I speed) but if the speed limit is 70, then don't go 55 in the right hand lane!!
9. People who are not on time.
10. PeOpLe WhO tYpE lIkE tHiS.
11. Driver's that don't use a turn signal.
12. Pulling away from a drive-thru and realizing you have no straw or your orders wrong.
13. People who don't take care of their children or provide for them.
14. Not having cell phone service.
15. People who ask annoying questions in class just to have a chance to talk.
Now I promise I'm really not mean and hate everything in the world!! There are just a few things that annoy the heck out of me! And I'm sure that everyone who knows me already knows all of them. =)
PS. HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLBY!!!

Random Ramblings....
My apologizes for the lack of blogs this past week. School started full blast (insert thumbs down and tongue noise here) and it was just a hectic week. I don't know if it was me but last week was a total DRAG!! The beginning of the week went by so dern slow. Guess it was because of the "ice/snow" storm we had. Actually, the "ice/snow" storm turned out to be nothing but a little cold rain. However, we did get a 2 hour delay Tuesday morning so thank you ECU for taking necessary precautions and letting us sleep in a little longer! =) Even though I will probably complain about school a lot on here, really I should be nothing but blessed to be there. My Dad keeps telling me that these years are the best and I need to enjoy them while I can. I do enjoy them and I'm very fortunate that my parents have the ability to put me through college. Sometimes though, the homework, tests, and studying just get to me and I feel like everything is going to come crashing down right then and there. But it doesn't, it never has, and it probably never will. I always get through everything, I just like to procrastinate a little. ;)
I have throughly enjoyed my weekend, probably because I didn't have to get up early and actually got to sleep in! I came home Thursday night because my professor for my econ class said that we would have a substitute on Friday. Seriously? Who in their right mind would go to a 8 AM Friday morning class with a substitute that doesn't take attendance? Not me! So I packed up my things and hi-tailed my butt down 264. Friday Matt was doing ride time so I slept in a little while then got up and cleaned Matt's room. God bless him. Matt is such a good man, however, he would be PERFECT if he knew how to place things on his dresser in some kind of order, hang up his clean clothes in his closet, and put a new roll of toilet paper on the actual handle, not on the bathroom counter! Love him though. Friday night....was spent with some lovely people at The Roadhouse. Love having catch up time with my girls (and Mark). Let's see, Saturday, Matt and me went to breakfast, then went to visit MeMa & Grandad. I love my grandparents so much. They are so down to earth and I can talk to them about anything. During the summer I lived with them so I could stay in Franklinton and work and of course so I could see Matt all the time. Haha. When summer was over and it was time to pack up and go back to school, I cried all the way down the driveway. Yeah, I know...corny right? But I loved spending time with them and it was hard leaving them. Ok, back on track Meg. Saturday night Matt took me to Middleburg! Yummy in my tummy :) Matt and my one year anniversary is tomorrow so that was to celebrate it! Thanks babe! Today I went to church, Mema and Grandad took me to lunch after, then I worked on some school stuff. Went by and showed April my little surprise for someone (cough Matt cough) and then I went and had supper with Matt at work. He works with some pretty cool people and they are always so sweet to me! Well tomorrow's Monday, but no school! Me and Matt are going to spend the day together before I have to go back to Greenville.
This week should be a good week since it is a short school one! I'm excited for this coming up weekend! One of my very best friends, Colby, is turning 21 this week and we are going to celebrate it this weekend! It's always a fun time when everyone get's together and I am really looking forward to it!! So, if I don't write in here again before Tuesday, Happy Birthday Colby!! Love you girl!
Hope everyone has a great week!!

TV, TV, & more TV...oh my!!
Well, its Sunday and that means the start of all my television shows for the week! I know I should probably be reading or doing something productive instead, but can't miss my shows!! Actually, I have been multitasking. For the past hour I've been sitting watching TV AND eating supper. =) Anyways, since moving to Sunchase with Courtney and Kaitlyn, we have developed TV watching patterns and stick to them religiously. Let's see...Sunday night is Desperate Housewives night, Monday night is The Real Housewives night, Tuesday is Teen Mom (which I'm very excited a new season starts this week!!), Wednesday night is usually something on TLC, and Thursdays is up in the air.
I'm a big sucker for reality TV. Right now me and Kaitlyn are watching Sarah Palin's Alaska. I'm not a big fan of Sarah Palin in the political scene, but she's pretty cool as a person and as a mom. And she does live in a pretty neat place. And on another note, "We are having smores' tonight in honor of Michelle Obama who says kids shouldn't have dessert." Haha. Guess she can't move away from politics all together! I used to be a big fan of Jon & Kate plus 8, until she became a whiny baby and he just went crazy. The Duggars is also a favorite of mine. Although I don't agree with them having kids "until God decides otherwise", she is a really good Mom and you can see that she really loves all of her kids. Let's now move away from TLC and talk about MTV. Really the only show I watch on this channel is Teen Mom. All the other shows to me seem really stupid and pointless. I know, I know, your probably thinking Teen Mom is really stupid and pointless but I like it. It's interesting to see how these young girls deal with having a baby so young and it makes me appreciate so much more the things my parents taught me when I was younger. For some of the girls (Amber), I wish I could punch her face through the TV, but I guess I have to settle for just screaming at the TV instead. Some of the girls I really feel sorry for though. I mean, everyone makes mistakes and if they are doing everything in their power to try and provide for their child and still having a hard time, it kind of makes me sad for them.
When I was still in high school, I used to have to DVR my all time favorite show, but now I just try to schedule my classes early enough so I'm home in time to see it. Yes, I'm talking about The Young and the Restless. In Greenville it comes on at 12:30, so sometimes its hard to catch. My Mom and Granny got me started on this and I just love it! & seeing Nick Newman everyday isn't so bad either! (Love you Matt) :)
Now at night time while we, well Kaitlyn, is cooking supper, cash cab is usually on and then at supper time we watch jeopardy and then wheel of fortune. Yeah, we are dorks. But I look forward to it every night! Haha.
Well, time to go prepare for a LONG week of classes. Hope everyone has a great week!! :-)

College, College, & more College!
As I start my 5th semester at ECU, I look back on everything I have been through since starting school. I can remember the first day I came here. My Mom, Dad, and Will moved me in, got me situated, then went to stay in a hotel for the night so they could get some rest before they headed back to Huntersville. Early the next morning I was texting my Mom crying telling her that I wanted to go home and that I was not staying here. I don't know why it hit me then, but the reality of being by myself, off at school without my mom and dad was just scary to me. Let's just say after some pep talk & many hugs from my parents and Kaitlyn's mom, I decided to stay.
Much to my surprise, college wasn't as hard as I first imagined. Don't get me wrong, I had to work my tail off and study like I've never studied before, but I expected that because you are working towards your future goal of having a successful job. At first, my major and what I really wanted to do was be a nurse. I just enjoy helping people and I thought I could make a difference in someone's life. However, some of the classes that I had to take for nursing stopped me dead in my tracks. After going back and forth and changing my major MANY times, I have finally decided what I want to do and I am sticking with it. My major now is social work with a minor in gerontology. After I graduate I want to get a job working with Hospice patients. In high school, I did an internship through a hospice agency and really enjoyed it. There's something special about working with people at the end of their lives. I love working with older people, they are so wise and most are as sweet as they can be. So, everyone pray that I can get through these next few semesters and finally get to be out in the "real" world with a successful job that can provide for me and also can make me happy. =) Oh, and I must give a shout out to my Mom & Dad, because without their support and financial help, I wouldn't even be here to get a education!
On a lighter note, here's a few things I have learned from going to college:
- 8 AM classes SUCK....BIG TIME!!
- Girls, there is no need to get dressed up to go to class. Trust me, no one is paying that much attention to you anyways.
- A home-cooked meal never tasted so good after you've been off at school for a while.
- Having good roommates makes everything better.
- Textbook prices are outrageous, & you never get back what you paid for them.
- It's so rewarding to see your grades at the end of the semester and know that you didn't work your butt off for nothing!
- These really are some of the best times of my life and I need to sit back and not wish it all away so fast!
Hugs!! =)

A New Year!!
Hey Guys!!
So sitting here at school on a Friday night (If you know me I'm never at school on a Friday night), Kaitlyn and I decided to start a blog. I've thought about doing a blog for a while, I just never got the chance to actually sit down and do it. And I probably thought that no one would read it because my life isn't that interesting at all. Ha ha. Anyways...have to give props to Kaitlyn for coming up with my blog name. She's the creative one out of the bunch! =)
Since the new year has started, it has made me think back on the past year and realize how blessed I am and how fulfilled my life really is. Here's a few things I'm grateful for...

- My Family ~ Without my family I don't know where I would be. I have the greatest parents in the world. They have always been there for me and provided everything I have ever needed or wanted. They are currently putting me through college and are always there to lend a helping hand. Love you Mom & Dad!! I also have the best little (even though he towers over me) brother ever. Will has grown up so much in the past year an I'm excited to see where the world takes him. Only one more year and he will be off to college himself!!
- My Matt ~ To be honest, I would be lost without him. This past year has been one of the best years of my life dating Matt. I know that he loves me unconditionally and supports me in whatever I do. He's fun to be around and I'm so comfortable around him. I'm excited for what 2011 has in store for us!! Love you Matt!
- My Friends ~ These are the people that keep me sane and are always there to put a smile on my face. I am so lucky to have such good friends. Not everyone can go off to college and room with the same people who you played in cribs with when you were little. And not everyone can meet new friends who you feel like you have known your whole entire life. Whether old or new, I feel so blessed to have people I can call at any time of the day, vent to when I'm angry or sad, or just spend the day hanging out together. Love all my friends, you know who you are!
- My health ~ I am just very grateful to be healthy and do the things I do daily!!
Well, that is just a little about who I am and what means the most to me in my life =)
